What is this session and who is it for?
The mentee awareness session is an informative half-day which servers as an introduction to the NHS NWLA’s mentoring scheme to prepare Mentees for the mentoring relationship. While also providing an entry point to the mentoring scheme, to share experience and learning and to build an understanding of how the scheme operates and what to expect from a mentoring relationship.
Why be a mentee?
Mentoring is available to a diverse range of employees with cross-organisational, cross-professional and peer mentoring relationships encouraged. The emphasis is on the needs of the individual with mentoring encouraging autonomy and self-development while helping to identify opportunities for future development. These collective improvements in an individual’s performance can lead to increased job satisfaction, while they also help to support the link between an individual’s role and their impact on patient care, benefiting the organisation and the NHS as a whole.
