Notice of temporary activity suspension

Over the past year, our NHS people have responded to the extraordinary challenge of COVID-19 with commitment, care and courage. We want to thank each one of you for all that you have done, and continue to do, as we respond to the global pandemic.

The NHS People Directorate (NHS Leadership Academy) invited leaders to complete a short survey in order to understand participants’ ability to fully commit to their learning journey in these challenging times. Our aim is, and always has been, to support you in growing and developing as leaders -  and for you to have the best high quality learning experience we can offer, ensuring you have the time and space to do this to the very best of your abilities.

Given your important feedback and considering your views, we have taken the difficult decision to pause formal programme activity for 12 weeks from Friday 15th January 2021 to Friday 9th April 2021.

Support is still available to you during this time and our NHS NWLA team have developed a refreshed Offers 2021 page. This suite of offers has been highlighted as priority support that will continue to enable leaders in the North West to lead through these challenging times and look after themselves and their teams, with flexible opportunities for learning and development.

If you haven’t yet had chance to access, we would encourage you to access ongoing support in the Executive Suite offer and #ProjectM. This is for you and your teams to support your own health and wellbeing. Please find this access at Our NHS People website.  As well as health and wellbeing support, you will find “bitesize” learning, coaching, mentoring and connecting spaces, which may be of support to you and your teams at this critical time.

Our team at NHS NWLA continue to be committed to your leadership development and are working to ensure there are offers and resources are available to you during this time. We are also working with our colleagues across the system through deployment to support the mass vaccination programme.

In the meantime, please accept once again our personal thanks and support for the remarkable way in which you have risen to this exceptional health challenge.
