Submissions have now closed for North West organisations to bid to host a graduate trainee for the September 2022 cohort.
Hosting a trainee is a way to bring new thinking and a fresh perspective to your organisation. While the North West system is facing a period of significant change and new challenges, bringing in a graduate trainee can help fuel innovation and problem-solving, helping you find more efficient ways to improve patient care and outcomes. Trainees are also part of a vital talent pipeline for our region, helping us effectively develop our future leaders.
If you have applied to host a trainee in September 2022, you will have heard from us by early June regarding the outcome of your bid. If you have any questions regarding Stage 2 applications or would like any additional feedback on your bid, please get in touch on nwla.gmtsnw@nhs.net.

- Programme and Placement manager details.
Trainee placements are required across the following specialisms:
- General Management
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Health Informatics

GMTS Orientation Planning Information Sessions
These orientation planning information sessions will provide guidance on planning a comprehensive and effective orientation experience at the beginning of the GMTS first placement to give your trainee(s) the broadest overview of the health service as is possible including how patients experience the NHS:
Areas covered will include - the aim and content of the orientation plan, duration and timing of orientation, as well as trainee feedback and ‘top tips’

Programme and Placement Manager Training Sessions
Programme and Placement Managers play an essential role in GMTS; these training sessions will provide information and guidance to enable managers to fulfill their roles and ensure a mutually beneficial experience for trainees and managers. During the training there will be opportunity to meet and connect with other GMTS managers and we encourage participants to share experience and best practice to improve learning for newer GMTS managers.
