The nationally developed brochure describes a way of approaching ‘System Leadership’ and aims to be the starting point of a conversation between the NHS North West Leadership Academy and those charged with bringing the Five Year Forward View (FYFV) into reality via the system, locality, place-based transformation work already in train in the North West, and more recently with the implementation of the Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs). The NHS North West Leadership Academy team horizon scan, systematically imagining the future and the leadership required in order to best plan a response to that future. It supports organisations to detect signals, identify trends and think more inventively about what the future might hold, enabling them to capitalise on opportunities and mitigate threats, planning leadership development interventions to support this.

NHS North West Leadership Academy work in partnership with other development bodies across the North West. Although each organisation has its own focus, many of the key agendas overlap and in planning and working together to deliver key activity and outcomes, assets will be shared, avoiding duplication of effort and ensuring resources are utilised to maximum effect.
WE PROVIDE BESPOKE, EFFECTIVE INTERVENTIONS WHICH MAKE BEST USE OF PUBLIC MONIES FOR OUR MEMBERS
The NHS North West Leadership Academy work with Development Providers, on their members behalf, to co-design the necessary leadership development interventions translating the presenting context and utilising their expertise to ensure that the end product delivers the key outcomes necessary to support and develop North West leaders. Through strong negotiation we always ensure best value for money whilst maintaining high quality.
The NHS North West Leadership Academy is a members led NHS organisation that provides leadership development for the most senior leaders working in the NHS in the North West. Operating since 2007 we have worked with 4754 Senior Leaders and Executives over the 8 years and provided over 176,000 hours of development. By operating a members model we work closely with our members and stakeholders to co-design bespoke leadership development interventions that meet the needs of the system, their organisations, teams and individual leaders.
The NHS North West Leadership Academy works with members to develop leaders in the North West to be the best they can be, ensuring they create the environment and the culture to improve population health and wellbeing, enabling the delivery of caring, compassionate, safe, effective, high quality services for our patients and local populations. This successful model is evident in the high levels of engagement and membership across the North West region and in the continuing success of the NHS North West Leadership Academy 8 years later. Our future model includes working collaboratively across health and social care with regional partners across the wider public sector.
As a Local Delivery Partner (LDP) for the NHS Leadership Academy we are the local representative for organisations in the North West to liaise with around the national core programmes and offers.
The NHS North West Leadership Academy works with members to develop leaders in the North West to be the best they can be, ensuring they create the environment and the culture to improve population health and wellbeing, enabling the delivery of caring, compassionate, safe, effective, high quality services for our patients and local populations.

Nye Bevan Programme - Now Open for Applications
The Nye Bevan programme is now open for applications closing on Monday 26 June 2017. This part time, one year programme is for senior clinical or non-clinical leaders aspiring to executive director (or equivalent) roles across the NHS.
